The very crummy Meter Man
In the summer holidays mum broke her arm at the ice skating place that was in town. A few weeks later my mum went to the hospital to get a new cast. Half way though the proses of her getting a new cast, I looked out the window and saw a little stubby Mater Man walking down the street. I told my mum and I looked again. I was surprised to see him checking out mums car. Mum told me to run out and put some money in the Meter and tell him that see was getting a new cast. I ran out side and asked him how to put money in the Meter but he rejected me and kept on walking. I saw that he had given my mum a ticket. I grabbed the ticket and gave it to my mum in side. She read the ticket and suddenly yelled "40 bucks! Jeez!" I read the ticket my self and it did say $40. After my mum got her new cast we drove down to the Tauranga City council and complained about the ticket that was $40. After a while a man in a suit came up to use and discussed the issue. My mum was so angry about the ticket because usually the ticket is only $12. In the end my mum still had to pay the $40 but in the future she says she will keep on writing complaints till she doesn't have to pay for it.

My Science Fair
This year for science fair I'm doing a test on what other materials can you use in a cup and string telephone and what ones are the best and have the best clarity, durability and density. I spray painted my board red and blue and I have got purple paper as my background paper. I have 9 tests in my experiment. My first test is paper cup and cotton string, next was paper cup and poly string, then paper cup and fishing line, next was plastic cup and cotton string, then plastic cup and poly string, then plastic cup and fishing line, the tin can and cotton string, next was tin can and poly string and lucky last was tin can and fishing line. I based my test on 3 things. Clarity, durability and density.

CAPTCHA
Captcha is a program that most websites use. Its use is to stop robots spamming blogs and other websites. I have Captcha on my blog, in fact our whole class has it. Captcha uses old books, newspapers and radio broadcasts for its words. It scans the books and other stuff and usually the words come out all weird and strange. About 200 million people solve these words every day. I think Captcha is a good thing to stop bots and other people from spamming. I also thing websites like Facebook should use it as well.

Cross Country
Yesterday we had our school cross country. The run was 3 km and we ran on grass and road. Last year I came 17th but this year I came 25th. The year 7 girls ran first, then year 7 boys then 8 girls and finally the year 8 boys. The race was though to start with and then it got a bit easier the second lap came around because every one was spread out. I passed a few people and a few people passed me but I tried my hardest to pass the people who passed me. After the race I went and sat down and asked a few people where they came. Nathan came 8th, Conor came 12th and Lookie came 1st. I wasn't that happy with my placing because I was 7 places slower than my last years place.

Xbox at my mates houses.
I don't really play computer games or xbox games but I play them at my mates house. When I go to their houses We usually chill out and play on the computer and Xbox. When I go to Nathans house we always play Fifa 13. Fifa 13 is the latest football game at the moment. You can design players, make teams and just play as your favorite team. When I go to my cousions house we always play that game called Modern Warfare 3. MW3 is just a normal shooting game where you run around killing people. I like Fifa 13 the best but I hardly ever play it and I dont know as much about it as Nathan.

My Dads Job
My Dad works as a cabinet, kitchen and furniture maker for a company called Creative kitchens and furniture. He leaves home at 7:15am and starts work at 7:30am and comes home at 5:30pm. He makes some cabinets and also some furniture that are more than $10,000. He's been into castles, mansions and celebrates houses just to put in a cabinet or a dinning table. He's been into the ACDC drummers house to put in a new kitchen. He's been into a Chinese temple thing to put in a few cabinets and a massive front door. He's also been to a house/mansion where the people who lived in it were friends or relatives of Sir Edmond Hillary and had two repliques of the pick axes he used to climb Mount Everest. Their are only 5 people working at his work and hes got 2 bosses and 1 work mate and apparently the other guy is a try hard who can't make a shelf.

My daily argument at home
"Have you done the dishwasher yet?" Asked mum.
"Oh, no I forgot," I said, "I'll do it now."
"Can you please shut all the windows to." mum replied.
"Ok, I'll do it after I do the dishes." I said with no enthusiasm.
"Thank you, now you can have some chocolate." Mum said happily.

indoor football game Tawa v Rimu
Yesterday at morning tea our house Rimu had an indoor football catch up game. We played Tawa because the game that we where aspost to play got rained off. The game started off well but it was very competitive the whole way through. There was a few chances for us and them but the half time result was nil all. At half time Mr Mossop made a few subs. We started the second half not so great because we kept on kicking the ball above our heads so they got lots of free kicks and they managed to score off one. We had the same amount of free kicks as well but I think the ref was a bit bias because when ever we had a free kick he'd pull it up for kicking it high but it only hit the cross bar and thats no high. THe end result was 1 nil to them.

My Football game against Mount Madrid
On Saturday I played my Football game against Mount Madrid. They looked very competitive when we did the tose. I won the tose and chose to stay the way we where facing so they got to kick off. We didn't have a good start and they managed to score in the first 5 minutes, but luckily Travis managed to sneak one in straight after we kicked off. It was 1-1 for a while but then we had a quick counter and I managed to get one in. About 10 minutes later they had an attack and they one guy ran to the penalty shot and then got passed to but he was offside and the lines-men was standing on half way talking and laughing to someone so our whole team when up to our ref Steve and complained about the lines-men but Steve just said "If you say one more word i'll send you off!" Soon after that it was nearly half time so we all went up for a big attack and then we set Zach up and he score just before half time. We kicked off the second half and had lots of attacks but we kept on missing. Travis scored again but this time 2 people hand balled it to try to stop it from going in. THe end result was 4-2 to us.

My conversation
"Hey, what you up to?" Asked Bon Bon.
"Nothing, what about you?" Replied Chon Chon.
"Nothing much, just won the Lotto Chon Chon." Bon Bon bragged.
"Congratulations, are you gonna give me some?" Said Chon Chon.
"No way, its all mine mate!" Yelled Bon Bon.
"oh, rats fulla." Chon Chon sighed.
"Don't be a doof Chon Chon!" Bon Bon Yelled, "I only won 9000 million dollars."
"What!" Chon Chon screamed, "9000 million dollars!"
"Yeah, it's not that much Chon Chon" mentioned Bon Bon.
"Bon Bon mate, you got to be kidding me!" Howled Chon Chon, "did you really win 9000 million dollars Bon Bon!"
"No Chon Chon I didn't win 9000 million dollars." Said Bon Bon
"oh what a relief," replied Chon Chon, "I really thought you won 9000 million dollars for a moment."
"Hahaha Chon Chon, your an egg," Bon Bon laughed, "I won 9001 million dollars!"

Physical Activity and the Outdoors
Rimu Homework Challenge #6
P5. Complete in a sport for an entire season
Football
I've been playing Football for 6 years now and this year is my 7th season. When I first started kicking a Soccer ball around I was 4 years old. I played it in my back yard and at the park with my Dad and he tort me the rules of Football and some skills as well.
Two years later my dad signed me up for saturday morning Football at Blue Rovers. I played mini grade for one year and my team was called the Sharks. Our kit was green shirts, blue shorts, blue socks with a white stripe at the top and some normal sand shoes. I can't remember much about that grade but we managed to come 2nd in the mini grade league. At the end of this season I got a Participation certificate, Coaches award and a fun team photo.
The next year it was 2007 and I was in 7th grade. Again our team name was the Sharks and this time we wore black and red shirts and the same shorts and socks but this year was the start of boot grade. That year we came 2nd again but to a team called Bluebottles. The Bluebottles had some of the best players in that team such as Ollie Valentine who is in the U13 Man City squad. That year I didn't win anything but I got the average Participation certificate and the shinny team photo.
2008, the year that we played different clubs around the bay such as Papamoa, Te Puke and so on. That year I got put in Reserve 2A grade. That was the year that we played in all Blue with numbers and everything. Our team was called Blue Rovers Typhoons and we came 3rd in the league. I played centre defense in that season and scored a few goals as well. THat year was the same as the year before, just the average Participation certificate and the shinny new team photo.
2009, this was the year I decided to move football clubs. I was deciding between Waipuna FC witch was just across the road or Mount. I decided to go to Waipuna to play with some friends from school and managed to drag a couple mates from Blue Rovers with me. I got put in the reserve team with a few mates and I scored 8 goals in the season. If I can remember correctly we came 4th in the league and that year I got player of the year for my team plus the Participation certificate and a team photo.
In 2010 I made it into the Waipuna 10th grade Prem team. I played striker that season and scored 11 goals and trilled for reps but got rejected. We were one of the best teams in our league coming 3rd 2 points behind Nathans Papamoa team. We entered 3 tournaments . We entered the Papamoa mid season tourney and came 3rd in a penalty shoot out. We also entered the 10th grade Blue Rovers tourney and came runners up in a game against Cambridge. We entered the Waipuna 10th grade tourney as well and came first in a game that we won 5 nil but the week before that I fell of a 3 meter high bridge on to flat concrete and landed on my knee with my bike on my back, I was on crutches for 3 weeks.
In 2011 I was in the prem team again. That year I scored 13 goals 2 more goals than my previous record, 11. I played skriker again for the season but that year we played on a bigger field with bigger goals. We entered 3 tournaments again. Our first one was the Papamoa mid season tourney. We came second in the tournament against Three Kings United in a penalty shoot out. We lost 5-4. Our second tourney was the Blue Rovers Vincent Green tourney. We came third in that tournament in a shoot out as well. Our other tourney we went to was the New Zealand nationals. That was a tourney where anyone could enter but you had to be on of the top teams of your region. We where lucky to even get in the tourney. It was held in Taupo and it was very cold. We managed to make it in the plate final against and Auckland team. We lost that final 5-3. I scored a easy chip, Logan scored a wicked free kick and Skilly scored another awesome free kick. That final was one of the most intense games i've ever played. Their were probably 20 free kicks, 2 penalties and a few scraps as well. My dad got a yellow card from the ref for saying a very naughty word even though he is our coach.
Last year was my first season in 12 and 13th grade. We played against 12 and 13 year olds. We got put in the 2 div because of 3 of our top players left of go play at a different club. I scored 13 goals again that season. We won the league and never lost one game.
This year i'm still in 12 and 13th grade. I've scored 6 goals so far and many more are coming my way. We are in 1st div this year and we've played our first game but lost 11-1 for so random reason. I'm also in the coerver elite squad and the new U13 Otumoetai federation sunday league team. I play center forward most games and I also play the odd centre mid as well. I play left and right mid on sunday for Otumoetai and sometimes play striker for the last 10 minutes.

Do dogs see other colors apart from black and white
Dogs see in black and white but they see in color too. They can not recognize the colors red, orange, yellow and green. They can see different shades of blue and they can tell apart different shades of grey that are not recognized by people.

Why is the sky blue
The sky is blue in the day because the molecules in the air scatter blue light from the sun more than they scatter red light. When the sun sets when see red and orange because the blue light has been scatters away from the line of sight.

The graveyard visit
Last week room 42 visited the 16th Avenue Cemetery. We went to the Cemetery to get started on a new statistics thing we are doing with maths. We went in pairs to the Cemetery and along the way we learn't a bit about different Cemetery's around New Zealand and Ms Campbell told us about Tapu Noa. I was Nathan's partner and when we arrived at the Cemetery we walked around looking at all the different types of graves and how old people where. We soon saw Steff and Travis and walked around to try find anyone who died over 100 tears old. Me and Nathan got a bit carried away with the 100 year old person and started doing our statistics question. Our question was what was the most common month that people died in. When Ms Campbell called us back we had to wash our hand with water to wash off the Tapu Noa witch is the spirits of the Cemetery's.
