Short story

The big angry FAT Hippo

It was a misty and cold Saturday morning. Bob had just woken up from his big week at work. He went for a drive down to the dairy to get some milk when he realized that he had to feed his big angry fat Hippo he just brought. Bob brought his milk and boosted back home to feed his Hippo, Jigalo. We jumped in his canoe and placed a big bag of fruit and veggies behind him. He was slow moving down stream when suddenly he heard a massive roar. When he reached his hungry Hippo he jumped out of his canoe and dragged the bag into the hut. Suddenly Bob run out of the hut with this big angry fat  Hippo chasing after him. Bob jumped in the water and swam as fast as he could back to the shore. When he was walking out of the water this big jaw grabbed his leg. Bob was dragged under the water  by the big hungry Hippo, and no one has seen him since.

Heart Rate

What is a heart rate? A heart rate is when you count how many time your heart beats in a minute. When you are running your heart rate speeds up and when your relaxing your heart rate slows down.
What is the normal heart rate for someone your age? I am 13 and the normal heart rate for a 13 year old is between 70 and 120 beats per minute.
When you exercise your heat rate....? It increases when you exercise and when you are relaxing it will decrease.
How does heart rate change as you get older? It decreases when you get older because of your age and when you get really old your heart rate will slow right down and when you are first born your heart rate is between 100 and 140 beats per minute.
How can you measure heart rate? you can measure it with your pulse and to measure your pulse you put 2 of your fingers on the side of your neck.

Weekend Post

You'll find it hard to believe, but in the weekend we play Aquinas Collage 2 in football and we won 12 nil. I scored the opening goal in the first 5 minutes. Then my team mate Zach scored next with a easy chip over the keeper and into the net. We were up 6 nil at half time even though we had the ball pretty much the whole time. To tell the truth we should of been up 10 nil. I scored 4 goals in the whole match, Travis scored 3, Zach scored 4 and Max scored 1. I actually felt sorry for Aquinas losing 12 nil.

The light bulb was invented in 1879 by Thomas Edison. Thomas Edison wasn't the first to invent a light bulb, It was actually first thought of in 1806 by an English inventer called Humphrey Davy. Humphrey Davy's light bulb was a powerful electric lamp. His lamp proceded its illumination by creating a blinding electric spark between two charcoal rods. This devise, know as the Arc Lamp was impractical for most uses. The Arc Lamp's light, simular to a welding torch, was simply to bright to use in residences and most businesses.

Science Post

Last year when I was in room 29, There was a competition on what house could make the best roller coaster. Not a real one of course, but a miniature scale of one. We made our roller coaster out of cardboard. We decided to make the theme a lake. We had a massive piece of cardboard on the bottom and lots of big cylinders holding it. We had the starting point up high and we put in a few loops, turns, jumps and spirals to make it fun. The cool effects we made where awesome, we had waves going down the sides, a island with lots of theres and a spooky slender man in the middle, and for the finishing point we made a dingy with a big sharks head poking out of the water (cardboard). We came second to the room 42 boys who made an even bigger one with even more jumps ,turns, loops and spirals.
